Who am I?

My name is Mike. I am from the New Jersey Shore, US. I went to Rutgers University for science degrees. I am currently bored with my lab job and wish to spend some time helping people learn about the world around them.

Stick around if you’d like, or don’t. I promise I won’t be offended. I just hope by the time you leave I’ve made you go “Hmm that’s cool, I can use that now.” And that is my goal here.

About this website

There is a specific goal I want to accomplish with my work here. I would like to consider topics such as:

  • What it means when household water is “hard.”

  • Can you get more gasoline in a car when you fill up when it’s colder outside.

  • Probable reasons why it burns when you pee and how to prevent it.

  • Why do people get gassy on planes.

I would like to research and depart knowledge of more common occurrences in the life of the average Joe. These blogs, videos, and general information are not directed towards doctoral candidates, university researchers, nor industry  professionals. Just as you don’t need to be a financial planner to manage your bank accounts or retirement plans, you don’t need to be a inorganic chemist to appreciate and apply science in your day to day.

Science is the system in which we learn about our world. And as the people of this world I believe we should be able to share the knowledge of our home… but maybe I’ll leave the harder stuff for someone else to figure out.
